Jinja secondary school is a high quality, modern government school located near the source of the Nile in the center of Jinja town in Uganda. It is a mixed day school with hostel facilities for both boys and girls. The school is administered by a team of experienced and well educated Ugandans with a strong commitment to excel in bringing out responsible citizens. 
The school currently has a teaching staff of over 80 full time graduate teachers, who teach and assess students in all academic disciplines respectively. The teachers also develop and write their own study materials as at times it’s required for our study programs. They also set the exam papers and mark scripts.
This robust quality assurance mechanism has been endorsed by the school board of governors that runs the quality assurance Agency within the school; this is aimed at safe guarding the quality and standards of higher education within the school itself.
Students are all examined at the same standards as required by the Ministry and also the Uganda National Examination Board, this principle of equivalency is enshrined in our regulations, and all stake holders are required to uphold it, through playing their principle roles.
All the stakeholders Jinja Secondary School want what is in the best interests of the students and to ensure every student has access to the highest quality education possible. Jinja Secondary School endeavors to meet the expectations of the students, staff and parents. In order to ensure that Jinja Secondary School maintains its high standards and to meet the expectations of the stakeholders the school needs to be adequately funded. Jinja Secondary School is committed to good governance as well as responsible care and use of the funds. For their part parents are required to commit to settling their school accounts on time

The academic curriculum has never been all that what schools offers to students, we often have a range of other classes, clubs and activities available to students, sometimes in lessons but more often in the breaks after classes.
At Jinja Secondary School we do believe all these activities have great educational potential, the fact that all classroom teaching is theoretical, practical knowledge can be imparted through these co-curricular activities.
The School also participates and does well at zonal, district, regional, and national levels. Many trophies are in our stores from different levels of competition and from different sports categories.
Our students represent the school and district to national level in athletics, cricket, Basketball among others.Our Sportsmen have benefited a lot to joining Public Universities on Sports ticket

The school has five fully equipped laboratories for all science subjects including chemistry, physics, biology and geography with adequate sitting capacity for each class.
Top of line Art Room
There is a dedicated Art room with adequate facilities and equipment for use by students interested in developing their talent in this field.
Computer Laboratories
Jinja Secondary School has two well-equipped computer labs for use by students. One of the labs is a dedicated e-library for use by students undertaking on line research and seeking to access reference books.
Modern Library
The school has a dedicated library which is in the process of being stocked with the relevant literature to enable research and access to information.
Well furnished Dinning Hall
We have a well-designed dining room with a seating capacity of 3000 students and teachers. Students are treated to wide range of foods to constitute a well balanced diet.
